Restoration Franchise vs. Starting Your Own

An honest comparison from someone who built a restoration company from scratch, with no franchise, no loans and no investors.

If you’re researching restoration franchises, you’re serious about this business. That’s good. Before you sign anything, it’s worth comparing a franchise to the independent route. I started FL Cleanup in 2016 on my own and have run 5,000+ water jobs since.

When a franchise can make sense

If you have significant capital, want a known brand immediately, and prefer following a set playbook, a franchise can work. Read the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) carefully. It lists the initial investment, fees and obligations, and it’s worth reviewing with an attorney.

What you really need either way

A brand name doesn’t get you paid. What does: a strong first call, clean documentation, estimates adjusters approve, invoices that get collected, and referral partners who trust you. Those are learnable, and you don’t need to buy a franchise to learn them.

The independent path, with a system

The 6-Figure Launchpad gives you the system I built from 5,000+ water jobs: 8 modules, templates, a community, and a 1-on-1 call with me, for $997 with no royalties, no territory limits and nothing to pay later. Not sure which way to go? Book a free 15-minute call and I’ll tell you honestly what I’d do in your shoes.

General comparison only. Franchise terms vary by brand; always read the FDD and consult an attorney. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
