From Foster Care to 5,000+ Water Jobs

This is my story. Watch it, and you’ll understand why I teach the way I do.

Where I come from

I spent part of my childhood in foster care in the Bronx and was adopted in 1996. I worked as a bag boy, a cook, and in a call center, living check to check like a lot of people reading this.

In 2012, I found restoration. In 2016, I started FL Cleanup in Miami with no loans and no investors. It’s still my company today, a water, mold and fire restoration company serving South and Central Florida. I made every mistake you can make in year one, and I learned from every one of them.

What I’ve built since

  • 5,000+ water jobs completed
  • Licensed mold assessor and remediator in Florida, and IICRC certified
  • Mold expert in attorney cases
  • A $500,000 mold remediation project at a major Miami hospital, completed entirely by my own crew
  • Commercial work for government agencies in Miami-Dade County
  • A hurricane flood and mold loss of over $1 million, where my company handled half the work
  • Viral mold education videos with hundreds of thousands of views

Why I started Damage To Dollars

I want plumbers, HVAC techs, contractors, and everyday workers to believe they can build real income with water jobs from realtors and property managers. Nobody handed me a system. I built one the hard way, and now I teach it straight, with no hype and no storm-chasing.

Giving back: Unbreakable Kids

Telling this story is what led me to start Unbreakable Kids, a nonprofit for foster and at-risk kids in South Florida. Because every kid deserves someone who believes they can make it.
